The Kalmthout gift card has been a great gift for more than 25 years and can be used in many businesses. Since June 1, 2025, a digital version was launched in addition to the paper gift card. The new way of working has many advantages, both for the customer and for the trader. With the launch of this new Kalmthout gift card, we encourage our residents to buy locally even more. The Yves and Britt business is one of more than 90 traders in Kalmthout where you can spend your gift card.

For sale physically and online

“You can purchase a gift card starting June 1, 2025 at the tourist information office Visit Kalmthout or at the reception of the town hall (not on Saturdays). The new gift card is the size of a bank card, which is more compact than the previous version," says Thomas Verboven of Visit Kalmthout. “You can also purchase the gift card online via the Visit Kalmthout webshop. You can check the remaining balance on that website, or via the QR code of the gift card itself. The new gift card is also valid for two years from the moment of purchase.”

Free for traders

“You can download the gift card not only on paper, but also as a QR-code on your smartphone,” says Thomas Verboven. “You pay the participating merchants with that QR code. Another new feature is that you can use the gift card multiple times and at different merchants. This gift card is now also completely free for participating traders. There is also a fast and automatic monthly payment. The trader no longer has to take any action for this.”

Transition period for old gift cards

Anyone who still has gift cards from Toerisme Kalmthout can still go to the traders who are partners of that gift card. Would you rather switch to the new gift card? Then drop by Visit Kalmthout. There, the employees will happily transfer the amount to a new Kalmthout gift card. “Traders who are interested in working with the new gift card can easily register online.
