Arboretum Kalmthout

The Arboretum Kalmthout botanical garden is a feast for the eyes. This garden enjoys worldwide fame thanks to its enchanting appearance. The lush domain houses thousands of rare trees, shrubs, perennials, and ground cover plants. You can see flowering plants all year round, in an infinite range of colours and scents. One of the absolute show-stoppers is the Hamamelis or Witch Hazel, which you can admire for its beautiful flowers and intoxicating scent in January and February. An absolute must-see for all plant lovers!

Planting days

Spring and autumn are ideal planting seasons. During the planting days of Arboretum Kalmthout - the oldest plant fair in Belgium - you will meet the very best plant growers from Belgium and the surrounding area in one go.

They each offer a variety of special, new and rare garden plants and are specialists within their range. At their stands you will receive practical tips and professional gardening advice. The plant day is an event not to be missed for every flower and plant lover!

Feel Good Garden

In 2021, the British Royal Horticultural Society declared the Arboretum to be the "Feel Good Garden" of the year. A little like the Oscar of botanical gardens, if you will. No wonder we are as proud as peacocks!
