Springtime in Kalmthout!
Spring in Kalmthout 🌸
Spring is in the air, which means nature is slowly reawakening. New life appears everywhere around us: birds are building their nests, buds are bursting open and the first flowers colour in the landscape. Soon, beautiful Japanese cherry trees will bloom in Arboretum Kalmthout – a spectacular spring view you don’t want to miss.
During the Easter holiday, this botanical garden hosts many activities. Stop by for a family visit to delve and discover between the budding greenery. Definitely mark Sunday, 19 April in your calendar! That’s when another cosy Plant Day (‘Plantendag’) will take place: the ideal opportunity to get inspired and discover remarkable plants.
Those who enjoy trying local flavours, are more than welcome to do so every first Saturday of the month at Visit Kalmthout’s Treat! (‘Visit Kalmthout Verwent!’). Discover delicious local products and be amazed by al the treats our region has to offer. The Spring doesn’t only revive nature, it’s also an important time for the animals. In Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, birds build their nests and roe deer prepare for the birth of their fawns. Nature is especially vulnerable during this time, which is why groundkeepers ask visitors to approach the area with an even more respectful attitude between 15 March and 30 June.
