Experience the silence in Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide
On Sunday, October 27, 2024 we celebrate the International Day of Silence in Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide. As a 3-star quie Sunday October 27:t area, the Grenspark is one of the few places in Flanders and the Netherlands where you can enjoy a low-stimulus noise environment. Together with various partners, the park organizes four silence experiences that let you experience the power of silence in the landscape.
Saturday October 26:
- Start your silent weekend with a meditative silent walk in the Monastery Garden of the former monastery of the Redemptorist Fathers in Essen.
Sunday October 27:
- Landscape painting workshop: Learn about the 19th-century landscape painters with nature guide Hans Geldhof and be inspired during a drawing workshop with the artists of Vriendenkring 't Palet.
- Silence experience from the fire and lookout tower: Visit the highest platform of the fire tower and listen to the stories of the fire tower keepers.
- Silent walk for families: Take part in an interactive walk full of assignments and learn about the importance of silence in nature.
